Record attendance confirmed for The Telegraph Outdoor Adventure & Travel Show 2015 – Driven by SEAT

Outdoor, travel and fitness enthusiasts from across the country gathered at London’s ExCeL from 12 – 15 February to celebrate the best of outdoor, adventure and travel, at the UK’s most adventurous Show.

The Telegraph Outdoor Adventure & Travel Show – Driven by SEAT, which co-located with The London Bike Show and the Triathlon Show: London, attracted 50,271 visitors, an 11% increase year on year. All three events are organised by Telegraph Events.

Catering for active travellers, photographers, climbers, walkers, watersport enthusiasts, cyclists, triathletes and families looking for an exciting day out, the Show was extremely well received with visitors and exhibitors thrilled by the quality and quantity of the content present. Exhibitors at the Show included Páramo, Craghoppers, DMM International, Mexico Tourism, Jöttnar, Primus Camping, OEX, Brunton, Fjallraven, PADI and many more.

The Show took its climbing offering to the next level in 2015 with the addition of SuperBloc, a new concept wall developed in conjunction with DMM Climbing. Featuring a mixture of elite, open competitions and masterclass sessions across the four days, SuperBloc was very well received, and welcomed some of the UK’s best climbers, including Shauna Coxsey and Dave Barrans who won the female and male categories respectively in the highly competitive RAB SuperBloc Masters.

Located in the heart of The Climbing Village in association with Guide Dogs for the Blind, SuperBloc certainly attracted the crowds but there was also a host of equipment to browse and other walls to conquer, catering for climbers of all ages and abilities. Visitors also had the chance to hear from and meet popular adventurers including Kenton Cool, Doug Scott, Shauna Coxsey (who took part in a ladies climbing forum) and Richard Parks who spoke on the Climb & Adventure Stage sponsored by Graubünden Tourism.

Bursting with a variety of tourist boards, active holiday companies and tour operators, as well as a fantastic line up of speakers on the Telegraph Travel Stage sponsored by Clipper Round the World Yacht Race, including James Cracknell, Monty Halls, Steve Backshall, Sir Robin Knox-Johnston and Levison Wood, the Show showcased what’s hot in travel for 2015 and inspired visitors looking for their next adventure.

Spending four days in the company of fellow adventurers and listening to some of the speakers, some of which were our own, was truly inspiring.”

Working closely with Outdoor Photography magazine, some of the UK’s top photographers joined the line up on the Outdoor Photography PhotoBox sponsored by Fjӓllrӓven. Visitors took advantage of tips from two of the best wildlife photographers in the business, Andy Parkinson and Luke Massey, Outdoor Photography editor Steve Watkins and action photographers, Steve Behr and Pete Webb. The area, which included a gallery of images from Outdoor Photographer of the Year finalists, gave photographers of all abilities the opportunity to get inspiration and learn something new.

The attractions help to create a fantastic atmosphere within the event and provide a huge draw for visitors – creating the perfect environment for exhibitors and sponsors to interact with outdoor enthusiasts and their families.
